The following message is based upon the philosophy and teachings of Srinivas Arka and is shared with love to all people in their search for inner peace, Dhyana and intuitive wisdom.

The present state of all existing things is subject to evolution and expansion. The growth of human intelligence is just a spark in the process of evolution. It can satisfy and quench only momentarily the curiosities and inquisitiveness of the mind about the tangible and palpable world applied by scientific means. An energy drawn from food, drink and air is spent lavishly and extravagantly to please the ever insatiable senses. Moreover it is all on the surface. On the other side however there is a settled and stored secretive energy that is scarcely aroused and applied in our lives which naturally and realistically accelerates and strengthens the growth of multi dimensional human life, not producing direct or indirect malefic effects as felt and faced in scientific and technological advancement. Further, though living in a conscious world we go about unconsciously, not experiencing the profundity of consciousness and super-potency of the sub-consciousness. As a consequence, the aura of the inner spirit is becoming blurred and dim, being not able to shine through, lacking peace and the wisdom of the inner world. Hence there is a universal cry for health and harmony, love and inspiration. In effect we look for them in various schools and courses and spiritual asylums. Thereupon in searching for these things we happen to come across some of those who do not respect faiths cherished by our ancestors and some cast fanatic influences on us, while others teach meditation aided by various gadgets, which could give instantaneous thrills and sedative effects by stimulating certain regions in the brain. But those methods do not bring a natural state of expanded awareness in an independent way. Hence this is a new, simple, effective, natural, non-sectarian Dhyana for everybody. One can practice it any time at one’s own will.

We should remain deeply beholden to nature and the universe for contributing everything that is essential for us to appear in full physical form on the Earth plane. Human psyche seeks truth, the physique seeks pleasure and the mind searches for solace. In this age, there is a dawn of understanding between the scientists of the physical world and the masters of the inner consciousness. Science only glimpses at the shadows of truth while spirituality encompasses truth as truth. Cosmic currents prevail everywhere and are ready to enter into the individual conscious world, but when there is no receptivity, there is no supra sensual experience and no escape from transmigration. Our cosmos is a conglomeration of negative and positive things; both have their significant roles from constructing the elementary particles to the giant heavenly bodies. In this age there will be profound study and experiment on the exploration of the resources of inner consciousness and the cosmic laws that govern us and the universe. This is a good omen.

In the far future, human species will be thrown into the highest levels of evolution and as a consequence will be scattered over celestial bodies. Today’s science whereupon will be mocked merely as an approximation. Future man will master the mystic art of altering the bio-chemistry of the brain and gain control of genetics and will work through collective consciousness. This will be a perverted progression that distracts from the serenity of the universe.

In order to become a meditator one need not abnegate one’s morally and socially bound responsibilities. Only the beginning path of Dhyana is conditioned. The higher state of mediation is universal. Only the beginning process of embarkation of a Dhyanee’s journey is variedly conditioned and disciplined. As one advances, he soars above all bounds and limits.

In the beginning stages of Dhyana, our physical body is the right subject and the object of meditation. Mind and heart can easily accept it for this is the holistic place in which we live, receive and reciprocate. The yogic touch is the full conscious touch. This touch is not to be mistaken or thought of as mere physical exercise. It is a subtle unification of body and mind through which bio-energy is projected deeply into the consciousness. The inner world is the world of worlds. You are not simply touching parts of your body; you are touching the very basis of your existence. It is the edge of meta-physical existence. Mind is tamed and guided to remain subservient in order to maximise the benefits of this simple Dhyana. For example when you are bringing your hands to your chest, in that very moment you are the heart and the heart is you. The same thing happens when you give a conscious touch to the forehead and so on. Your focus of attention is only on your forehead. You become your forehead, and while touching it, the forehead becomes you. There should be a feel of absolute oneness. In Arka Dhyana even if there is spontaneous movement of mind from one energy centre to another there is nothing lost, on the contrary your concentration is still exercised. There, your energy is not wasted, instead it is re-circulated and revitalised from the cytoplasm of a cell to the cortex of the brain.

Synchronised with each touch, the SAAROOGOVAUM, sound is pronounced in a rhythmic fashion, which is like a thread entwined in a garland. The SAAROOGOVAUM pronunciation must be soft, mild and harmoniously stretched. You can also slightly increase the touch or impact whenever concentration needs to be enhanced. There is no rush; you can stay as long as you feel the inner need to stay at every energy station. There are 19 major energy stations. After a period of constant and sincere practice of the preliminary stage in which you will use the physical yogic touch, you will be eligible for the intermediate stage. Here you will be doing all the previous procedures mentally within, and no physical movements are involved. In this intermediate stage you are going through all 19 points on the mental level. Then it does not become imagination. On the contrary, it becomes a reality, as you have already experienced the yogic touch on the physical level. You will then be able to reach your inner consciousness, whenever and wherever you need it. By gradual and methodical practice you will be able to either reduce or expand your consciousness within. Furthermore you can direct your consciousness either to the heart centre, or the centre of the mid-brain, in order to realise the true sense of Dhyana; even with all external disturbances. During this meditation, you must breathe in silently, deeply and slowly. Sustain it and prolong the exhalation. At the end of the meditation, continue to keep your eyes closed, lie flat on a plain surface or on the floor. You will just relax, with no subject, no focus, no control over any part of the body. Just let yourself be free and observe any kind of experience. Stay this way for any length of time you choose.

Do not be disheartened if you cannot experience much peace, love, light and ecstasy in the beginning. As practice goes on, with full dedication and sincerity you will certainly be able to get optimum results. After years of deep practice, your ultimate goal is to tune and harmonise with the cosmic super consciousness, by which you should be automatically guided. When your search for truth ripens, after years of sincere and persistent craving, either you get a master or an objective cosmic force to guide you and take you to the intended destination. We constantly waste our energy by defusing negative qualities on others such as greed, jealously, enmity and so on. If the same energy is directed into the abyss of the subliminal mind, man can develop higher understanding and establish universal harmony and peace.

Sit crossed legged and in an upright position. Rest your hands on your knees, keep your spine erect, mouth closed, jaws relaxed. Do not make the body unnaturally stiff and firm. As we are going to search for peace, joy and the light of inner knowledge, Dhyana should begin in quietude. There is no pressure from any source, now you just exist. Relax your body, feel comfortable and patient. When you sincerely dedicate your time, effort and energy, you will certainly achieve the intended results. Universe is always benevolent and objective in conferring reward to deserving souls. The moment you close your eyes, you are partially separated from the world around you and immediately you feel that the enormous energy which was going out through the eyes is stopped and it is reversed into you. So the burden on the brain of responding to external stimuli, coming into a greater degree through the eyes is reduced. The energy thus reversed goes to subtle nerve centres in order to awaken those latent energies.

Closing the eyes means not just closing the lids of the eyes but stopping the total eye function. If this could be achieved by not wobbling the eyeballs, then there is an emergence of strong nerve currents vibrated by Pranic force. These currents go to tap the sleeping third eye located in the centre of the forehead, physically invisible to the naked eye. During this process the meditator should remain as an observer, not taking part in it. The only guide at this important stage is to gradually speed up the breathing. Of course not exceeding the rate of single respiration per second, this can go on only for moments. Mystical and divine experiences occur only in a flash. It cannot continuously and incessantly occur for hours and days. The experience of bliss, joy or light that is achieved at this stage will be long lasting. It can be a moment of brilliant flash, which can go on radiating bliss and power for a year, or in some cases throughout the life. That indicates the intensity of the divine flash and the strong impression it has left on oneself. This is just the first stage of Arka Dhyana.

Dhyana must be practised unconditionally. The power and effectiveness of Dhyana cannot be achieved overnight. Sages and Yogis of bygone eras dedicated their whole lives to the practice of Dhyana. In Sadhana or spiritual practice, if you are honest, persistent and patient in your approach, you will surely be rewarded by cosmic, guiding forces. If the mind is wondering in the beginning of your Dhyana journey, do not be concerned about it. It is its very behaviour and nature. This stillness of mind cannot easily be felt unless, one has thoroughly mastered one’s mind after years of constant practice. In this Arka Dhyana, mind is tamed and channelled in a circuitous way, even though you use some methodical, physical movements at the beginning stage; still, concentration and steadiness of mind are felt. Hence every minor step of Arka Dhyana must be regarded significant and necessary to this beginning stage of Dhyana.

Let the mind wander for a few moments, set it free. You give yourself a strong impulse within, that ‘I am not the mind and this is true’. Only then can you feel and see that your mind is recessing from the external world within and around you. Now you are in a relaxed state of mind and you are prepared to enter into Dhyana. Hold your forefeet with the hands gently and softly. Do not wriggle the body. Draw in a deep breath, utter the SAAROOGOVAUM sound, beginning from the mouth and ending nasally. This sound brings the absolute oneness in each Yogic touch. The vibrations created by the utterance of the SAAROOGOVAUM sound during Dhyana will increase the magnitude of the life force or nimbus, but the sound produced has to be felt from the navel. As water purifies the external portions of the body, so also SAAROOGOVAUM sound purifies the inner portion of the body. A clear, deep producing of sound can act like a catalyst in harmonising body, mind and consciousness. One could also choose any humming sound that is similar to this, but the efficacy of the sounds vary and hence we recommend the SAAROOGOVAUM sound as one of the best cosmic sounds experienced by Srinivas Arka. After reciting the SAAROOGOVAUM sound, go for three sustained and prolonged deep respirations. When you enter the forth respiration with inhalation, you are ready to make the same sound a second time. At the same time synchronise with the movement of the hands towards the shin. Again, following the same procedure, move from the shin towards the knees. Knees to the thighs and then waist, navel centre, abdomen, chest, shoulders, elbows, joined palms in front of the chest (Namaste/prayer position), fore-neck, mouth, nose, cheeks, ears, eyes, forehead, top of the head. There is no rigid rule that one has to stay at each point for a specific length of time. You can remain at each point for as long as you wish, feeling the Yogic touch. For example, when you are moving from knees to thighs, you can keep enjoying the effect of deep conscious respiration, for more than 3, 6, 9 or more respirations. During the process of Dhyana, if you get even a slight indication of the possibility of mind disturbance, immediately increase the force of touch with your fingers from thumb to the last finger of both hands, then mind is reinstated. Consciousness is strongly felt at the specific point you are touching.

Everyone has an inborn magnetic healing power. That is the reason why when one stumbles and is hurt, instantaneously and instinctively ones hands go to the source of the pain. At the same moment one gets some relief and after that the healing power retreats to deeper recesses of the body. Only a few realise this kind of specially gifted power and learn to develop it. In this method of Arka Dhyana, your hidden healing power is automatically rekindled and brought to the surface at your command and will, which not only helps relieve your symptoms and sufferings but can also be used for the benefit of others.

Hence be sincere and inviting to each of the stages and steps that are suggested outlining Dhyana.

In Arka Dhyana you climb up the body from the soles of the feet to the crown of the head. After reaching the crown of the head with the gradient movement of your hands physically, bring both the hands to your knees and begin to contemplate on the mysterious technicalities involved in the breathing process, such as the involuntary intake of air and irresistible urge to breathe out; spontaneous changes in breath force; the strong connection between emotion and respiration; breath processed through a single nostril, though the other is clear; and so on. In actuality we are not living because of mere oxygen. It is just an aid to renew and refresh our life force within. If oxygen is everything, no one would die in the world. The cessation between the inhalation and exhalation is Prana or life. Thus focus on the breath while projecting your mind towards it, you just become the breath and breath becomes you. Again the oneness must be felt. When you breathe out understanding the very meaning of respiration, then you are breathing out all physical and mental impurities. While you are breathing in, you are imbibing beauty and truth from the external world. In this way you always remain untouched and undisturbed while in Dhyana.

Please do not speak to anyone for a few minutes after Dhyana, as the energy gained, and the peace and bliss you have experienced during Dhyana will disappear vaporously. Hence, give a measurable time for it to saturate in you.
