Srinivas Arka

Testimonials

It is a privilege to be in the presence of Arka. When he speaks, he speaks from his heart and it is apt to describe his conversations as ‘profound wisdom - simplified for the average person’. Arka is a caring, loving person. People bring to their conversations descriptions of an ailing uncle, a son struggling in a country far away, a daughter caught up with crucial decisions – he not only cares for those whom he meets but also cares for and sends *loving kindness* to all those people referred to him.

He did say to me that I have amazing Grace of intuitive knowledge-based passion for service. I could never figure this out until I started believing in this and day after day witnessing this myself in recent weeks. How could I doubt my privileges to sanity with a guide like him? He teaches us to be human first, something we all need to re-learn.

I consider it an honour to be involved in his mission of humanitarian renaissance - seeking a better future for all of us.

I am writing to thank Srinivas Arka for coming to Avonhead School on 7th July 2011. His motivational talk on the value of education, setting goals, gaining inspiration and improving memory was truly inspiring.

This was a great opportunity for our year 7 and 8 students to meet someone whose philosophies allow the academic and the spiritual to complement each other.

Srinivas spoke at the level of the students and on issues that will concern many of them in the future as they go on to secondary and tertiary education. His analogies with nature and the use of his quotations from his book Petals of the Heart struck a chord with many of our young people.

His manner was calm yet electric; he is a definite presence in the room and holds the attention of his audience regardless of their age or culture.

For many of our young people motivation and concentration are elusive states of mind. Their worlds are constantly bombarded with the distractions of technology and the noise of daily life. Srinivas talked to us about thinking with the heart as well as the head, taking time to stop and listen.

In the world of glitz and glamour it is important that our young minds learn to know themselves in order to reach their full potential.

Thank you again Srinivas for the privilege of having you at our school.

Dear Srinivas Arka,

Your presence and the teaching on conscious awareness generate tremendous strength. Your simplicity reflects the depth of your inner knowledge. Meeting you has made me more positive in thought and action.

My family (wife, and three daughters) said, I quote:

'A man who brings us to think better, listen better, reason better. In his presence we become stronger’.

Impressions on ‘Adventures of Self Discovery’ book

In this Book (Adventures in Self Discovery), Srinivas Arka in my opinion has a message relevant to all kinds of people, be they adherents of any particular religion or none, for as he states, “we all want to find inner peace and know the truth of life” and we seem to have made our lives increasingly artificial and mechanical, keeping too busy to have time to spare for our own inner progress. In this book he is clearly aiming to redress the balance, and he is not being prescriptive, but as he points out we all have to find our own way and tailor our meditation in ways that suit ourselves.

The book is a relatively brief and readable overview of a huge range of concepts, and I feel it will be helpful to anyone in the early stages of asking the most important and fundamental philosophical questions concerning the meaning of life, why they are here, and how to be content, fulfilled and happy. He stresses the importance of silence, solitude and also of meaningful activity, and of the need to listen for guidance, be it from an outside source such as nature, or from within, depending on our philosophy.

Many of his statements are similar to some of the principles utilized in psychological therapies, particularly some of the more cognitive approaches, but with more of an emphasis on the spiritual area than purely on the more intellectual, as well as on the need to explore our inner being and to listen to our intuition rather than just focusing on externals.

I found the book left me resolving to delve further and to make time to put some of his suggestions into practice.

Impressions on the book “Becoming Inspired”

Initial reaction was that this was pseudo-science and made assumptions that I could not accept. Following the first meeting with Srinivas Arka, I was persuaded that the arguments in the book were rather ways in which accepted scientific facts could be extended.

Some of ideas I liked, particularly those about interacting with other people.

While I also like the idea of inner consciousness and spiritual development, I have a problem with the ‘physical’ division of mind and heart. I believe that even spiritual development takes place in the mind. I accept that the mind/heart separation is purely an analogy, but, personally, I do not find it a useful one. On the other hand, I do believe that spiritual development takes place and, in my view, this is principally to do with our relationships with other people.

I also think that, for me, the extension of physical laws to the metaphysical does not work. While I agree that the logical extension of everything taking place in the mind is that the spiritual does relate to the physical and while I accept that in a sense not accepting the extension to the metaphysical is a contradiction, I do not feel that, at present, there is enough (scientific) evidence on which to base the extension of the physical to the metaphysical. There also seems to me to be a danger in trying to use analogies and extensions of accepted physical laws to justify (or explain) spiritual truths that can only be gained from personal experience.

Essentially, accepting what is in the book is a question of faith and personal experience. While trying to explain this is understandable, I find it impossible to justify on purely intellectual level. Perhaps, paradoxically, this justifies what the book is saying. Nevertheless, one has to believe in premise of the book before being willing to be convinced by its arguments. For me, at least, the arguments do not stand up by themselves.

About Petals of the Heart

I had a pleasant experience when I met Mr Srinivas Arka in the pleasant surroundings of Arka Foundation near Beeruhundi, Mysore, when he presented me with a beautiful book entitled PETALS OF THE HEART, A Garden of Fragrant Quotations. I read the book with keen interest which gave me moral encouragement and spiritual. As averred in the book, science encourages us to think deeply and spirituality inspires us to become profound and fragrance of purest inspiration comes from the flower of the heart. It is hundred percent true that MOTHER is the first teacher but is rarely acknowledged.

How true it is that if we become egotistical about our position and power this stimulates Nature to create somebody better than us. It is true that success makes us proud but failure makes us wiser. One should remember that one is the embodiment of Nature and humans should blossom to the fullest to disperse the spirit of kindness and compassion. Definitely, Intuitive Meditation or ARKA DHYANA will definitely help us improve health and intellect to enhance our vision and concentration leading to ENLIGHTENMENT. I once again thank Mr Srinivas Arka profusely for the book which I will cherish for ever.

With warm regards.

Impression on books by college professor

I found your books titled “Light of Learning”, “Becoming Inspired”, “Adventures of Self Discovery” and “Petals of The Heart”, well written and inspiring for present time period people to bring them to the light of Spiritual consciousness.

With this testimonial, I would like to show my gratitude to Srinivas Arka for the infinite wisdom, wise advice, and enlightened vision which he always gives unsparingly. He is one of these rare individuals who have realized the highest ideals any human can aspire to, and at the same time, with his example, he shows us irreproachably how to put them into practice in the world. In a world that often tends to promote quite the opposite, his inspiration gives you the impulse to listen to the voice of your heart, which says to always give the best of you. Then, your life can gain more and more meaning as you go further, revealing all its treasures, blessings and wealth.

His last visit to Elche was one more of these unexpected gifts that life has brought to me. I hope that everyone who had the opportunity to meet him could receive as much peace, happiness and guidance as he gave to me or even more.

Impression on ‘Petals of the Heart’ book from the Himalayas

This book contains all facts of life what the real human beings hold, but nowadays it is in everyone’s heart but not in their physical life. We have forgotten the value of love, friendship, relationship. But it was really very good to see that somebody is still thinking and has written this book. I really loved this book.

Thank you Mr. Arka for giving us this beautiful book.

Dear Arka

I am grateful for having had the great blessing of having met you this life time! My spiritual heart soars when I recall your teachings, (the words of the silence are the sweetest to me)! A most wonderful day was the day of the summer retreat when you spoke by the water and we walked thru the forest to the hill that overlooked the lake. Your words were pure gold to our ears! I wish you many blessings and look forward to your visit to Canada when ever that may be.

Impression on ‘Adventures in self discovery’ and ‘Petals of the Heart’ book

I read Adventures in Self Discovery and Petals of the Heart by Srinivas Arka with great interest. Also, recently I met him when he gave a talk at The South Mitcham Community Centre Association. The Basic Truth about life is not easily comprehended by ordinary people. Srinivas Arka explains in very simple terms the profound truth. He says “We are all here on earth to understand and realise truth, to see and feel beauty and to experience love”.

You will achieve enlightenment only when you know the truth or make a courageous attempt to discover truth.” If one properly cultivates the principles explained by Srinivas Arka and implants this in one’s heart, one is sure to be on the right track.

I am glad indeed to be able to record this testimony.

Impression on ‘Adventures in self discovery’ book

I read the book ‘Adventures in self discovery’ with an open mind’, and found myself utterly engrossed within moments. Behind every chapter is a concept and theory that is so simple yet Srinivas Arka provides significant interpretations as to why everyday thoughts and actions are unconsciously carried out. There are many characteristics in life which individuals take for granted and the book simply takes you back to the secrets of enjoying a full and uncomplicated life. As a person who is constantly analytical, both in my career and my personal life, I most thoroughly enjoyed the section focussing on having a balance of the mind. My favourite quote within the book reads; ‘Where the human mind is considered as negative but combined with the pure and positive heart, individuals are able to experience conscious peace.

There are however, some aspects of the book that I did not fully agree to but this I believe can be put down to individual differences as well as limitations in life experiences. Overall a book very well written and I would most definitely recommend for all to experience.

Wonderful experience

Listening to him (Srinivas Arka) I felt such a sense of connection and calmness. Some key points I managed to gather to myself were that the heart is the physical space of all our inner consciousness. As he spoke about this I felt a light and warmth around my heart area. Now when I want to quieten my mind, I can readily feel the sensation and connection again. Mr Arka also spoke about natural rhythms and how often our minds pull us away from our own natural rhythms, distracting us or making us unaware of our true inner selves. By just pulling our minds gently back to observe the natural rhythm of our breath, we can reconnect with our inner consciousness and every other aspect of our being benefits immediately—so simple but so powerful.

Another strong message I took away with me was that Mr Arka’s description of our beings being represented by a cone shape, with our inner consciousness being placed at the top of the cone. As we attend to and connect with this inner consciousness the benefits overflow into all aspects of our lives. I have seen pictures of Jesus with the spiritual heart, and now I can feel I actually have a heart with energy like this emanating from it.

Practical and Inspiring

What seemed to be an unattainable task ahead of me, now appeared within my grasp in a heartbeat. Looking up into the vast and infinite sky I realised how humans have the capacity to accomplish wondrous things; everything in life is achievable. Practising Arka Dhyana and everything seemed straightforward and clear. I was left feeling motivated, uplifted and most of all inspired.

“I have known Srinivas Arka for over 15 years”.

A scholar, philosopher, and a modern day yogi as he is known to me and to my family as well as to countless others, has throughout these years, not only inspired and guided me but through his methods and philosophies, has helped me to achieve what I have achieved today and continue so to do.

Without his inspiration and guidance which is immeasurable, for me this would not have been possible. He has also taught me how to bring inner peace to myself through the practice of Arka Dhyana.

I feel that at last I have met a teacher who will awaken my inner feelings. I had been undergoing a huge amount of turmoil in my life, both financially and mentally. I began dedicating my energy to reading Srinivas Arka’s literature and listening to his tapes. As I put my mind to doing the literature, my mind started to settle and I restarted my Yoga practice.

Ever since my meeting with Srinivas Arka my life has changed for the better. I now appreciate life.

The first time I heard of Srinivas Arka was from Mata Betty, a dear sweet motherly teacher. She planted the seed in our hearts for meeting this special person. I feel that Srinivas Arka gives the balance to our understanding of the subtle truths. We are witnessing a dawn of education, where many truths are being drawn from within the students itself.

Meetings with Srinivas Arka were very inspiring, elevating and calming. In him I found a person who was willing to share the most highest of truths in a practical and simple manner. He was like a Scientist who encouraged us to experiment with Consciousness. The best aspect about him is his humility and simplicity, reflecting many aspects of a bright inner life.

I am very grateful for the time he spent with the young people, who enjoyed being in his presence.

Dear Srinivas Arka

May I on behalf of us all at Mill Hill centre thank you for sharing on 4th May 2008 your deep and profound truths gained from your own direct experiences over many years. I believe we all felt elevated when you clearly showed us the way of connecting heartfelt experiences and using these to guide us on a higher path. Personally I felt even more blessed when, in your evening discourse, you explained the practice of nishkama seva and connected it with Arka Dhyana meditation – a lot of food for thought and deeper assimilation.

May I also thank Arka Dhyana study circle members for the most humble and effective method of explaining and demonstrating Arka Dhyana touch and sound meditation; if it is possible we would like to invite you plus any guests again where we can focus on this aspect with a special workshop.

Impressions from a noted Aeronautical Engineering Professional

Srinivas Arka, has touched the hearts of many by way of his profound and inspirational writings and lectures that have been contributing in a significant way to the enrichment of human life. He is a strong believer that peace can be attained through meditation and has developed the practical approach of the Arka Dhyana meditation technique, which gives way to attaining peace and also a journey in exploring and utilizing the dormant positive energies and creative talents in human.

The method of Arka Dhyana, is the outcome of many years of inspirational work by Srinivas Arka. People in different parts of the world like Australia, England, USA, Canada, Spain, New Zealand, Fiji, Mexico, just to name a few, have experienced Arka Dhyana and are reaping the fruits. Many have experienced physical, mental and spiritual benefits with positive progress in their everyday lives. Seminars have been conducted where intensive training, through theory and practice, has been imparted.

Srinivas Arka has written about Arka Dhyana and related topics in a very systematic manner explaining the most intricate and complex concepts in a simple form that is easily understood, which will serve as a valuable reference. It provides the reader with the concepts underlying the method of Arka Dhyana and also describes the method in detail with a very practical approach. Arka Dhyana teaches us that there is a means, a natural and positive way to explore our minds and our deeper selves by gently allowing or calling the heart to take over whereby the mind will gracefully accept the new guidance. We can then naturally obtain insight and expansion into the deeper levels of our consciousness.

This philosophy and method brings our focus down to the centre of the heart region and thus increases our intuitive ability through which we are able to find our path in life. It enables our consciousness to shift into a greater awareness of our inner self as well as our environment. I confidently state that this Arka Dhyana is philosophically and spiritually so profound and effective. Arka Dhyana brings out a new philosophy and a new concept for the progress of humanity through a balanced approach to our lives with a blend of scientific understanding and mystical insight.

Impressions from a noted Industrialist

I have known Yogi Arka for many years. He is a very special philosopher, author and speaker, who from a young age, has been spreading his message of spirituality and peace, travelling throughout the world. He is an enlightened master with abundant experience and wisdom. I had the privilege of publishing his priceless book “Light of Learning” in Kannada, the regional language of Karnataka. It is useful not only for students but also for people of all ages.

Yogi Arka has developed a unique method of meditation, known as Arka Dhyana, a fine tuned intuitive meditation using touch and sound. He advises and teaches this to everyone who comes in search of peace. I have practised it myself and find it very uplifting, providing inner peace, helping with decision making and increasing intuitive faculties. Many people around the world have been benefited spiritually by practising Arka Dhyana and trained teachers in different parts of the world are imparting this regularly to people in their respective countries.

I am sure that Yogi Arka’s message of peace and Arka Dhyana will reach one and all worldwide, especially in India, where I would like it to radiate and shower immense spiritual and health benefits to all people.

Recommendation for the book: Becoming Inspired

“It was very well written and made excellent use of metaphors to explain his point of view. It was very wide-ranging, however, and a sort of blend of philosophy, religion and psychology.”

Thank you for your presence, reflection and expression from the depths of your heart at the meeting last night in Mitcham. I felt new petals unfolding.

Thank you, too, for the new Petals of the Heart book and the kind inscriptions you wrote in them. It carries its message in its beautiful presentation alone. Some of the last quotations became part of the subject of last night’s talk.
