The Difference between Consciousness and Awareness

Consciousness

This is a non-physical, yet powerful entity that is the pivot of all life and activates the senses in living beings. It is highly responsive and expressive and has many layers, especially in humans.

M-Consciousness

Mind is the first layer, which is surface manifested in the cerebral region. As it becomes sharpened by the cultivation of learning, it evolves into a faculty called Intellect.

M2-Consciousness

The second layer is under the surface mind, which is the subliminal or subconscious mind. Even we are unaware of its potential and capabilities, which may seem incredible to our surface mind.

H-Consciousness

The third layer is the Feeling-Mind. Here feeling consciousness generally prevails in the heart region. This can be called the heart or heart-consciousness. Through time, when it is experienced and expressed, it acquires an emotional faculty called Intuition.

H2-Consciousness

The fourth layer is the deeper heart where you feel emotions with even greater depth. This can be called the Spiritual heart, or your inner-consciousness. The presence of the surface mind is reduced but the presence of the subliminal or subconscious mind is enhanced. Formed by impressions gathered through what you have learned and experienced, along with the memory of your personality.

S-Consciousness

The fifth layer is Core-Consciousness. This is the very essence of your whole presence and of everything that you feel, think and do. It is generically addressed as Soul, or Self.

In between these, there are many other layers that cannot be explained by mere analysis. As you descend deeper it becomes even more metaphysical.

The different layers of consciousness within can be experienced with one’s own volition, vision, dedication, consistency and practice with the addition of conviction and discipline.

The process of re-experiencing the purity of our consciousness is to reverse the evolution of all that has happened to us from the time of our birth to the present time. We travel from the mind to the heart to deeper consciousness, It can be said that The Journey from rational, Mind to Emotional Heart to pure Consciousness. Who undertakes this internal journey? It is our “I-Awareness” or ego, which is the pivot of the memories which form into a personality. We recognise this as a consistent personality from the day we become aware of our presence.

The beginning is metaphysical then physical; this leads to the mind which is mystical, then concludes in the spiritual heart. This journey leads to self-discovery and realisation and can result in personal enlightenment. This is a state of heightened consciousness which brings clarity, inner peace and the ability to not just understand the deeper meaning of life but to feel it too. As your heart blossoms, you experience increased compassion and empathy with awakened yet unconditional love and intuitive wisdom.

Awareness

Awareness is an effect of consciousness and it means increasing your knowledge or raising consciousness about anything at any time. By doing this, you are inspired or motivated to act in a certain manner in order to proceed or remain silent as you choose to.
