Mrs Pratima Ramesh Soma, is a member of CCA New Zealand and is also an Arka Dhyana teacher.

Pratima has a Masters in Engineering (B.A, M.A. Eng) and is also a highly skilled translator of languages with the qualification of ESOL (English for speakers of other languages) such as Hindi and Gujarati into English. She has provided this service for the benefit of various community organisations including local schools and police. Her other interests include yoga, singing and arts.

 

It is through these interests she has come to know the world renowned singer, Anup Jalota renowned for his performances in the Indian musical form of ghazals (poetry) and bhajans (hymns). Pratima is also acquainted with the legendary broadcaster and radio personality in New Zealand, Mr Ameen Sayani.

Left: Pratima introduces Srinivas Arka’s published book - ‘Adventures in Self-Discovery’ to Mr Anup Jalota. From his initial impressions of the book he remarked a wish of being able to meet the author.

Right: Pratima had introduced the book ‘Petals of the Heart’ to Mr Ameen Sayani. He had used this book to quote from during an interview and expressed that it contains many other gems of wisdom he would draw upon again.
