Sometimes the body depends upon the mind, at other times the mind depends on the body. When the mind depends on the body there is more peace and less desire. When the body depends on the mind there is less peace and more desire. If the mind saturates or dissolves into the inner consciousness of a person, then the person loses normal awareness, but goes into conscious awareness. When the mind dissolves totally into one’s own inner consciousness, then there is no common awareness and the person goes into super awareness. That person is not just aware of the world, or aware of one’s own body and existence, but becomes superbly aware, cosmically aware. However, Dhyana means you experience various components of your existence. Sometimes you experience body consciousness, at other times you experience only your being as pure consciousness; sometimes only the physical body with life vibrating in it, sometimes you experience yourself as only an intellectual being, just an intellectual. Thus you experience sometimes your heart, only as heart.

Petals of Living

Body, Mind and Consciousness.

Why Arka Dhyana?  All people meditate in their own way. Meditation with conscious awareness is very productive and highly beneficial.

When we focus by looking at an object, such as a tree, and then close our eyes, we expand our vision to include what is also around the object and the depth behind the object. Sometimes we are too preoccupied with the external world.

The whole body can be a new world in itself for exploration and we are the explorers. The soul can be the core of everything, the nucleus of our whole presence.  We can know the circumferences, but have to get back to the centre. Wherever you feel, that is the centre, whatever you think that is the circumference of your soul.

Put heart into breathing and be consciously aware of it. We generate vibrations of meaning and energies.

Consciousness has entered matter. We need co-operation and assistance of nature. It is not always the outside  environment that is influencing us; sometimes we can influence the outside environment.

Nature is the mystical mirror of our thoughts, emotions and feelings. Remember nature and atmosphere absorb our vibrations given off our bodies and souls and reflects us the same sometimes with more gifts.

All living entities that are attracted to harmonious vibrations such as love, smile, positive attitude and empathy have magnetism. The way we talk about ourselves influences our directions.  Whatever we say has its effect on us first before others. This is why mantras and prayers were introduced by our enlightened ancestors. Thoughts can even affect our appearances. You can check your breath by passing your hand under your nose while breathing out.  Everything breathes and pulsates – trees, plants, animals. There is breathing pulsation in all particles. We can affect our atoms and vice versa. Our breathing system and pattern are deeply connected to nature. By knowing the secrets of breath you would know the workings of the world. Nature wants us to be healthy and happy. We can explore who we are, what we are, from our depth and express ourselves in service to the world.  We become inspired and reflect it.

Touch is Mother’s sense. It is used to experience shape and size of the world. With touch you can absorb and transmit energy and know the difference between the animate and inanimate.  We shake hands when we meet someone and the touch tells us about them. When we get hurt the hand automatically goes right to the area that hurts, even before we realise it. Touch is ahead of our logic.  Touch tells us texture immediately, and also the temperature. Visually impaired read by touch.  We pass feelings to others with our touch.  A healing touch transfers energy. In hospitals, it is not always the medicine that cures but the doctor’s sound and touch contribute more to the healing. We can put our mind in any part of our body, or learn to withdraw our mind from any part. In the past, yogis could create bubbles or sweat in the intended areas of the body at their own will.

So you experience various components of your existence, although mainly consciously in Dhyana. And as you progress further you develop the ability to unify all of these various components into one single unit that experiences whole consciousness. Then you become highly receptive and qualified to become attuned to the cosmic consciousness or universal consciousness. Then you do not feel yourself much different or much differentiated from the world, from yourself, others, other beings and nature. You feel your presence in everything and in everybody. Thus you experience the highest forms or higher levels of consciousness. And as you evolve in this way, through spiritual sadhana (the spiritual practice in Dhyana mainly), you raise yourself from ordinary thinking, from normal interpretation or just being only an intellectual personality or someone with just common sense. And you are not just a new human being afterwards, because of your heightened consciousness, because of your realisation of your inner conscious self or ‘atman’, or because of your enlightened state of consciousness. Here you become a special human being. Wherever you go, people recognise you because of your specialness. You see resourcefulness in everybody. By doing so, you see totality everywhere. You always make every moment a celebration as if it is a greater festival and a beautiful mystic voyage from the normal levels of thinking and living, to the deeper levels of understanding, experiencing and living.
